About this Conference

This conference will provide clear guidance on key aspects of decision-making legislation, including the latest developments in public awareness efforts and practical steps for registration and identification processes. Experts will discuss jurisdictional considerations for Capacity and Decision-Making Representatives (CDM) and Decision-Making Assistants (DMA), as well as the legal and financial aspects of Decision-Making Representative (DMR) applications, including access to legal aid. Sessions will also cover capacity assessments, the responsibilities of attorneys under Enduring Powers of Attorney (EPA), and the process for wardship discharge within the required timeframe. Additionally, ethical and legal considerations in healthcare decision-making, particularly regarding advance healthcare directives (AHDs), will be explored. Attendees will gain valuable insights and practical tools to navigate these processes effectively.
