Patrick Shields is currently undertaking a Full Time PhD in Generative AI at Munster Technological University, with a research focus on AI adoption among SMEs - particularly the human, strategic and behavioural factors influencing uptake. His work explores how non-technical businesses can adopt AI in practical, low-risk ways that enhance productivity and service delivery. With a background in senior leadership and management consulting within the luxury hospitality sector, Patricks brings a commercially grounded perspective to the evolving role of AI in business. He remains actively engaged in conversations with business leaders, educators and policymakers on how AI can be applied in ways that are practical, people-focused and free from unnecessary complexity or hype.
