Dr Claire Bergin is a postdoctoral researcher at the Irish Climate Analysis Research Units (ICARUS) at Maynooth University. She is studying climate attribution analysis as part of an EPA funded project entitled WASITUS. The aim of this project is to ascertain if different extreme weather events on the island of Ireland are made more, or less, frequent and severe due to human influenced climate change. She will work closely with colleagues in World Weather Attribution (WWA) led out of Imperial College London to conduct global attribution studies. Previous to starting in Maynooth, Claire completed her PhD in Applied Mathematics at UCD, studying the effect of different meteorological conditions on ocean waves.
