Diarmuid founded ICAN Acoustics (www.acoustics.ie) and has over twenty years of expertise in acoustics and noise control. Provides noise and vibration measurement and assessment services, noise and vibration impact assessment, building acoustics and design, architectural acoustics, outdoor concert noise control and plant noise design and specification. Assessment is provided using appropriate and current guidance documents such as BS8233, BS4142, NG4, Technical Guidance Document E (Sound) and other relevant guidance. Other services include expert witness and oral hearing representation for licensing and planning matters, noise mapping (CADNA-A), prediction and mathematical modelling. Regularly presents seminars on acoustics to architects, engineers, and members of other related professions. Diarmuid is Chair of the Irish Branch of the Institute of Acoustics, President of the European Acoustics Association in the Republic of Ireland and past Chair of the Association of Acoustic Consultants of Ireland. Diarmuid is a full member of the Association of Acoustic Consultants of Ireland, Engineers Ireland, the UK Institute of Acoustics, the Acoustical Society of America and the UK Institute of Sound and Communication Engineers. Diarmuid also serves on the committee of the Irish Branch of the Institute of Acoustics.
