Rachel specialises in planning, environmental and public and administrative law. Her practice primarily involves advising public sector clients in those areas, with a particular focus on the defence of their decisions in the Superior Courts. She has been involved in many of the leading cases in this area of practice over the past decade. Rachel is a council member and former chairperson (2012 to 2018) of the Irish Environmental Law Association. A graduate of the University of Cambridge (BA), she qualified as a solicitor in Ireland in 2001. Rachel is one of 29 solicitors who have been appointed as Senior Counsel in Ireland to date, a designation that was traditionally awarded to barristers who were called to the Inner Bar.
