Dr. Wojciech Mrozik is a Faraday Institution Senior Research Fellow at Newcastle University and a leading expert in lithium-ion battery safety. His research focuses on risk assessment, hazard identification, and mitigation strategies for battery failures through his work on the Faraday Institution-funded “SafeBatt: Science of battery safety” project and the previous “Reuse and Recycling of lithium-ion batteries (ReLiB)” initiative. Dr. Mrozik actively engages with diverse stakeholders, delivering presentations to industry professionals, local governments, and the international research community at conferences and seminars. He also provides specialized training to Fire and Rescue Services both in the UK and internationally. As a UK National Expert, he contributes to several CEN & ISO committees and BSI working groups focused on battery standards. His academic achievements include over 40 publications in international journals, an H-Index of 29, and more than 3,000 citations. Dr. Mrozik has successfully led multiple research and industry-focused projects dedicated to advancing battery safety technologies and practices.
